Indonesian Stay Permit (KITAS and KITAP)
KITAS – Limited Stay Permit
Working Stay Permit (KITAS)
Validity
• Period of stay : 6 months & 1 year.
• Can be extended up to 5 times, maximum stay 6 consecutive years.

• Manpower report / WLKP
• Results of the eligibility
• DKP-TKA billing code / government levy / notification letter as PNBP
• Ratification of RPTKA / Expatriate placement plan
• e-Visa / VITAS
• Multiple exit re-entry permit / MERP

• NIK for foreigners in Indonesia / SKTT

1 month after all complete documents are received.
Notes
Only applicable for Experts (TKA) / general positions, Directors / Commissioners non-shareholders of the company, or Directors / Commissioners share ownership under IDR 1,000,000,000.
Investor Stay Permit (KITAS)
Validity
• Period of stay : 1 year & 2 years.
• Can be extended : 1 year KITAS up to 5 times, maximum stay 6 consecutive years, 2 years KITAS up to 2 times, maximum stay 6 consecutive years.

Notes
Only applicable for Board of Directors/Commissioners or Shareholder (Director/Commissioner) of the company who own IDR 1,000,000,000 or Investors who are not a Board of Directors/Commissioners of the company but own IDR 1,125,000,000.
Student Stay Permit (KITAS)
Validity
• Period of stay : 6 months & 1 year.
• Can be extended based the study period in Indonesia.

• NIK for foreigners in Indonesia / SKTT

Notes
This KITAS cannot be used for work.
Family Union & Dependent Stay Permit (KITAS)
Validity
• Period of stay : 6 months & 1 year.
• Can be extended up to 5 times, maximum stay 6 consecutive years.

• Only applicable for foreigners who have an Indonesian spouse (mixed marriage) or dependents of KITAS holders.
• This KITAS cannot be used for work.
• Can be converted into KITAP, if :
> Indonesian spouse (mixed marriage), the age of marriage is more than 2 years.
> Dependents of KITAP holders.
Retirement Stay Permit (KITAS)
Validity
• Period of stay : 6 months & 1 year.
• Can be extended up to 5 times, maximum stay 6 consecutive years.

Repatriation / Ex Indonesia Citizen Stay Permit (KITAS)
Validity
• Period of stay : 6 month & 1 year.
• Can be extended up to 5 times, maximum stay 6 consecutive years.

KITAP – Permanent Stay Permit
Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP)
Validity
• Period of stay : 5 years with MERP 2 years.
• Can be extended to an unlimited permanent stay permit (KITAP).

• Approval from relevant agencies & Directorate General of Immigration
• 2 years Multiple Exit Re-entry Permit / MERP
• 5 years KITAP
• Police report certificate / STM
• ID / KTP
• Family Card / Kartu Keluarga
Timeline
1,5 – 2 months after all complete documents are received.
Notes
• The KITAS holders can do conversion to KITAP.
• Applicable for holders of ; work KITAS, investor KITAS, spouse / dependent KITAS, retirement KITAS, spouse / dependent of KITAP holders, ex Indonesian citizens, former children who hold dual citizen of the Republic of Indonesia, ex-children with dual nationality of the Republic of Indonesia who chose foreign citizenship, children born in Indonesia to foreigners who hold a permanent stay permit, and Indonesian citizens who have lost Indonesian citizenship in the Indonesian Territory.
